didn't expect this to get slightly hurty & also still crying u changed to my book

[ Immediately, he almost wishes he'd been wrong.

It would be wiser to try and piece together the scraps of the other note, perhaps -- since it's been split, it's pretty clear that it's the one with the real message, rather than whatever else Komaeda had to say. But instead, Saihara finds himself at the first one anyway, his gaze running quickly over the words. It looks like just... Komaeda's rambles about the book itself, but perhaps it's precisely the silence of the library, the knowledge it'll be lost to anyone but himself, that lets him answer. ]

I don't think the reader is hurt... they're just enjoying the twist in a story, after all. More rather, isn't he forgetting someone?

[ It's mumbled to himself, more and more filled with frustration as he goes. The text goes on and on about the growth of the detective at the expense of others, and things such as hope that do sound just like... what Komaeda would say. But does he know...? The Dr. Sheppard in the book... resents Poirot for figuring him out. At the end, he wishes he'd never met him. ]

...

[ It gets to him, maybe more than it should, and his fingers dig into paper for a second as if to crumple it -- yet in the end... he's still too weak, or too bound by his head over his feelings, to even do that. Damn it. He checks through the rest of the book all too quickly, memorizing the things that seem blotted out since he can't take the novel itself from the library. They're probably... numbers, right? Just like the one that's marked with a line... And he has a good idea of what the mention of him skipping breakfast might mean.

(How did Komaeda even know that, anyway!?)

After placing the book back on the shelf, he takes the papers and exits into the corridor again... where's ball Monokuma, didn't you put it there. ]
